EPWater Solicits Technical Grade Methanol Supply and Delivery

El Paso Water Utilities Public Service Board (EPWater) is seeking proposals for the supply and delivery of Technical Grade Methanol for water treatment operations. - Government Buyer: - El Paso Water Utilities Public Service Board (EPWater), Purchasing & Contracts Administration - Products Requested: - Technical Grade Methanol (minimum 99.8% purity, specific gravity 0.791-0.793, max 0.10% water content) - Estimated annual quantity: 200,000 gallons - Must be manufactured in the United States - Delivered in full tank loads (~7,500 gallons) to Fred Hervey Water Reclamation Plant, El Paso, TX - Must comply with ASTM, IMPCA, AWWA, OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards - Delivery requires certified weight tickets and certificates of analysis - Pricing: - Base Price (publicly published index price) for bulk methanol - Total Delivered Fuel Price per gallon (sum of mark-up and base price, excluding freight/taxes) - Owner's Allowance: - $100,000 set aside for unanticipated work at owner's direction - Notable Requirements: - Contract term is one year, with up to four one-year extensions and a possible six-month month-to-month extension - Price is firm for the first six months, with possible escalation thereafter - Vendors must provide references for similar or higher volume supply - Compliance with Texas Local Government Code and hazardous material regulations - All methanol must be delivered with proper documentation and meet strict safety and quality standards - No specific OEMs are named; opportunity is open to all qualified U.S. methanol manufacturers and suppliers.

Description

EPWater is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide Technical Grade Methanol. The procurement is conducted via a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, with submissions accepted electronically or by sealed bid. The contract includes furnishing goods, supplies, equipment, and/or services as specified in the solicitation. The proposal deadline is June 10, 2026, and a pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for May 26, 2026. The contract price is fixed for six months, and references from non-utility customers with similar or higher volume are acceptable.
