Description
The District of Sooke is seeking a consultant to represent local government interests in provincial-First Nations reconciliation and treaty table discussions in the South Island region. The consultant will work with the South Island Reconciliation Advisory Committee (SIRAC) and attend Te’mexw Treaty table discussions as part of the provincial negotiating team. Responsibilities include coordinating SIRAC meetings, keeping members informed, and facilitating information sharing between provincial-First Nations tables and local governments. This is an as-needed opportunity with anticipated annual hours of 15 to 20 per month and a financial spend between $40,000 and $60,000 per year.
