Description
The District of Sooke seeks a consultant to represent local government interests in provincial-First Nations reconciliation and treaty table discussions in the South Island region. The consultant will work closely with the South Island Reconciliation Advisory Committee (SIRAC) and attend Te’mexw Treaty table discussions as a member of the provincial negotiating team. Responsibilities include coordinating SIRAC meetings, keeping members informed, and facilitating information sharing between provincial-First Nations tables and local governments. This is an as-needed opportunity with anticipated annual hours of 15 to 20 hours per month and an estimated financial spend between $40,000 and $60,000 per annum.
