Description
The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) is proposing to rescind its regulations concerning the Historic Preservation Requirements of the Urban Development Action Grant (UDAG) Program from the Code of Federal Regulations. The UDAG Program, which provided grants to economically distressed urban areas to stimulate economic development, is no longer active, with the last appropriation in 1988 and administrative closure in 2021. The proposed rule aims to eliminate obsolete regulations that are no longer applicable, as the UDAG Program funds have been closed out and the regulations refer to outdated processes. Comments on the proposed rule are due by July 6, 2026.
