Description
The Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office of the Department of Energy has received an application from Port Arthur LNG, LLC requesting blanket authorization to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) that was previously imported into the United States. The requested authorization covers a volume equivalent to 20 billion cubic feet of natural gas over a two-year period. The LNG will be exported from the Port Arthur LNG terminal in Texas to any country with the capacity to import LNG and with which trade is not prohibited by U.S. law or policy. The application is filed under the Natural Gas Act and includes provisions for public comments and interventions by July 6, 2026.
