Description
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus SAS Model A350-941 airplanes. This AD was prompted by a determination that double overcoating sealant was not applied during production on certain fasteners in the center wing box and belly faring junction for both left-hand and right-hand sides, and certain fasteners are susceptible to rotation. The AD requires replacing each affected part and applying additional head nut cap protection to address the unsafe condition. The directive aims to prevent loss of fastener clamping and potential fuel tank explosion due to lightning strike.
