Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the University of California, Berkeley intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of unassociated funerary objects or objects of cultural patrimony and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The items include two objects of cultural patrimony (baskets) and two unassociated funerary objects (charmstones). Repatriation may occur on or after July 6, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at the University of California, Berkeley.
