Description
Pre-Solicitation Notice: Rosebud Lift Station Construction
I will post the actual solicitation soon.
Location: 1319 Soldier Creek Road, Rosebud, SD 57570 County: Todd
POP: 240 calendar days
Construction Magnitude: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000
Contract Type: firm-fixed-priced
TERO: TERO is applicable. See Section H.50.
Goal: The existing lift station has been in place since the early 1990s. Since its creation the hospital anticipates increased expansion in the emergency department, added on Tribal programs (dialysis, detox, Tribal Health Administration Building), added on 19 more quarters units, and is anticipating adding an additional 23 quarters units. The existing pumps are facing replacement every 1-2 years due to the unanticipated growth, but due to the growth we need to consider increasing the capacity of the wet well. In addition to switching from standard submersible pumps to chopper pumps to accommodate the random objects that get flushed into the system. In July both pumps ended up failing and they had to not only replace the pumps but pay for sewage disposal to circumvent overflow.
A separate project is in the works to begin remediating/replacing damaged sewer mains due to inflow and infiltration.
This construction solicitation will require the full removal and replacement of the lift station for the Rosebud complex. The existing lift station provides wastewater service to the hospital quarters units, and several tribal program buildings. Once installation is complete the new lift station will take the full sanitary load for the area currently being serviced by the existing lift station and be sized to handle expansion in the future. Then the existing lift station consisting of the wet well, dry well, pumps and piping will be demolished. The new lift station will consist of a wet well, a dry well, installation of chopper pumps, and force main connection. This project will also include a new control system to allow the facility to monitor flow into the lift station and the status of the equipment.
Brand Names: Where brand names are referenced, they establish a standard of quality and performance. Offerors may propose equal products that meet or exceed the specified functional and performance requirements. The Government will evaluate equality based on technical compatibility, performance, and integration with the system.
