The University of Texas at Austin is seeking contractors for major structural and electrical repairs at its Central Chilling Station No. 3 (CS3): - Government Buyer: - University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) - Central Chilling Station No. 3 (CS3) facility - Products and Equipment: - Two 7.5MVA transformers (removal, testing, storage, reinstallation on new micropile foundations) - Two 12kV metal enclosed switchgear units (removal, testing, storage, reinstallation) - Services Requested: - Structural selective demolition (concrete foundations, roof canopy, masonry walls) - Structural concrete installation (equipment foundations, pilecaps, micropiles, flatwork) - Civil demolition and excavation (paving, sidewalks, roadways, curbs, utility lines) - Electrical demolition and repairs (raceways, cabling) - Rigging, testing, storage, installation, and reconnection of equipment - Comprehensive post-installation equipment testing - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Project must be completed in two phases to maintain continuous CS3 operation - Dual CTCD/CTCM certification required - Mandatory State of Texas Veteran Heroes United in Business (VetHUB) subcontracting plan - Strong emphasis on participation by service-disabled veteran-owned businesses - Estimated contract value: approximately $1.9 million

Description

This solicitation is for structural and electrical repairs at the University of Texas at Austin. The project addresses differential settlement issues affecting the exterior equipment yard foundation and involves removal, testing, and reinstallation of transformers and switchgear on new foundations. Construction will be completed in two phases to maintain normal operation of the CS3 main building.
