Description
The Coast Guard is removing the existing drawbridge operation regulation for the Route 280 Bridge at mile 5.8 across the Passaic River, Harrison, New Jersey. This action follows the issuance of a permit on April 29, 2026, authorizing the conversion of the Route 280 Bridge from a moveable bridge to a fixed bridge. As a result, the operating regulation for the bridge is no longer applicable or necessary and will be removed from the Code of Federal Regulations. This final rule is effective June 3, 2026, and does not affect waterway or land traffic.
