Description
This final rule removes obsolete requirements from Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 207, Seating Systems. The changes were proposed in a notice of proposed rulemaking published on May 30, 2025, and no comments were received on the proposed changes. The rule is effective from July 6, 2026, and does not affect the applicability of 49 U.S.C. 30122 regarding making inoperative any part of a device or element of design installed in a vehicle pursuant to an FMVSS applicable on the date of manufacture.
