The City of San Diego is seeking construction management services for the Pump Station 2 Improvements and Modernization project: - Government Buyer: - City of San Diego Purchasing & Contracting Department, Engineering & Capital Projects Department, Public Works Division - Project Scope: - Construction Management Resident Engineer (CMRE) services and comprehensive inspection for a major pump station upgrade - Replacement and installation of key equipment: - 8 vertical non-clog pumps - 6 pump motors (including conversion to induction motors) - 6 pump motor drives (Variable Frequency Drives and Reduced Voltage Soft Starters) - 8 cone valves and actuators - 8 suction wedge-type gate valves - 8 discharge wedge-type gate valves - 2 wet wells: concrete patching and coating - Pump fly wheels, supports, gauges, sensors, and transmitters - New pump seal water supply system - Additional HVAC units and ductwork for new electrical equipment - 2 VFDs for Pumps 3 and 6 - 4 exhaust fans (EF-1 through EF-4) - 1 packaged rooftop air conditioning unit for VFD Room - Architectural and structural rehabilitation throughout the facility - Services Required: - CMRE services for approximately 1,452 construction working days plus start-up and close-out - Inspection services covering structural, concrete, mechanical, welding, electrical, coating, corrosion, and instrumentation & controls - Project management, schedule analysis, claims management, and project closeout - Notable Requirements: - Strict operational continuity during construction - Project Labor Agreement and Equal Opportunity Contracting Program compliance - Encouragement of participation by certified Small and Emerging Local Business Enterprises (SLBE/ELBE) - Estimated Contract Value: - $6.1 million to $7 million - Period of Performance: - Up to 5 years (approx. 1,452 construction working days plus start-up and close-out) - Place of Performance: - Pump Station 2, N Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA
