Description

The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) is seeking an external consultant to perform a cumulative effects assessment (CEA) for the Regional Assessment of Oil and Gas Exploratory Drilling in the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Area. The contractor will collaborate with the IAAC RA Team to evaluate interactions of offshore exploratory drilling with regional activities, characterize cumulative effects on valued components, and propose mitigation, monitoring, and adaptive management measures at a regional scale. The focus will be on regional patterns, trends, and interactions across environmental, health, social, and economic components, supporting future regulatory decisions, including potential exclusion regulation under the Impact Assessment Act. The CEA will utilize regional-scale spatial boundaries and multi-year temporal scales, focusing on Valued Components sensitivities rather than full baseline descriptions. The contract duration is approximately 6 months starting around July 1, 2026.
