NASA Marshall Space Flight Center is seeking specialized pressure sensors and related components for rocket motor testing: - Government Buyer: - National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) - NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) as contracting office - OEM Highlight: - PCB PIEZOTRONICS, INC is the sole source and manufacturer for the required sensors - Products Requested: - 40 units of Model 123B23 Rocket Motor ICP Pressure Sensors - Rated at 10,000 psi, 0.5 mV/psi sensitivity - Features: helium bleed, water-cooled, ceramic coated tips, hermetic sealing, replaceable tubes - Designed to withstand high pressures and temperatures - 80 units of brass seals (0.624" OD x 0.553" ID x 0.080" thick) - Delivery Requirements: - 10 sensors to be delivered within 20 weeks after order - Remaining 30 sensors within 40 weeks after order - Brass seals to be delivered as ready - Place of Performance and Delivery: - Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL (Central Receiving, Bldg. 4631) - Notable Requirements: - Sole source justification due to unique technical specifications and OEM exclusivity - Sensors must meet strict performance and durability standards for rocket motor applications

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Rocket Motor ICP Pressure Sensor 10k psi 0.5 mV/psi He Bleed, H2O cooled. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to PCB PIEZOTRONICS, INC: 3425 WALDEN AVE | DEPEW, NEW YORK 14043 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that PCB PIEZOTRONICS, INC is the sole provider of Rocket Motor ICP Pressure Sensor 10k psi 0.5 mV/psi He Bleed, H2O cooled.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 6/4/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
