Consulting Services for NYC Parks Asset Inventory and Assessment

The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking consulting services to support a comprehensive inventory and assessment of park assets for capital planning. - Government Buyer: - New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYC Parks) - Led by Commissioner Tricia Shimamura - Scope of Work: - Identification, inventorying, and assessment of assets across NYC Parks properties - Full mapping of all assets in GIS, including synthetic turf fields, park walls, recreation centers, restrooms, and pools - Development of asset hierarchies and standardized inspection protocols - Creation of data collection and analysis tools for asset condition and capital needs - Estimation of capital costs for asset repair and replacement - Recommendations for efficient technologies (e.g., LIDAR, drone inspections) to support data collection - Notable Requirements: - Experience with large-scale asset inventory and inspection programs - Ability to propose innovative approaches and deliverables for efficient use of resources - Development of protocols for asset mapping, condition assessment, and capital planning - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; the opportunity is open to qualified consulting firms.

Description

NYC Parks seeks to better understand the complete inventory of assets on Parklands, to have them fully mapped on GIS along with relevant asset data and regularly inspected to identify their current state of repair and potential level of Capital need. The purpose of this request is to engage with Consultants to understand potential approaches and deliverables to more efficiently use funding and other resources to employ a needs assessment approach to the wider Parks portfolio. This will enable NYC Parks to better plan and budget for its capital plans in the future. NYC Parks invites interested Consultants who have experience with developing such inventorying and inspection programs for Owners of large asset portfolios to express their interest by responding to this RFEI.
