The U.S. Department of Education, through the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) and related offices, is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement to establish and operate a National Technical Assistance Center for Postsecondary Education and Training for Individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of Education - Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) - Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) - Funding and Duration: - Up to $4,000,000 per year, with a total project period of up to 60 months - Funded by three Department programs: Technical Assistance and Dissemination (TA&D), Personnel Development (PD), and Educational Technology, Media, and Materials (ETechM2) - Services Requested: - Establishment and operation of a National Technical Assistance Center - Provide technical assistance, resources, and support to increase admission, persistence, and completion rates for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in postsecondary, vocational, technical, continuing, and adult education - Deliver universal, targeted, and intensive technical assistance - Develop products and services, conduct data collection and analysis, and perform outreach - Enhance use of technology, including AI, for accessibility accommodations - Notable Requirements: - Separate budgeting for each funding stream - Annual project progress must be posted on the project website - Support transfer of resources at the end of the award period - Eligible applicants include state/local educational agencies, higher education institutions, public agencies, nonprofits, for-profits, and Tribal organizations

Description

The Department of Education is soliciting applications to establish a National Technical Assistance Center for Postsecondary Education and Training for Individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This cooperative agreement will address the postsecondary, vocational, technical, continuing, and adult education needs of individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. The program is funded through three Department programs and aims to increase admission, persistence, and completion rates for these individuals in postsecondary education and training. The project period is up to 60 months with an estimated funding of $4,000,000 and one expected award.
