Veterinary Services for Canines at Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter

The Town of North Hempstead is seeking proposals for comprehensive veterinary services for canines at its Animal Shelter. - Government Buyer: - Town of North Hempstead, Department of Public Safety, Procurement Division - Scope of Services: - Routine and emergency veterinary care for 150-300 canines annually - Includes consultations, office visits, surgeries, euthanasia, medication ordering, annual rabies vaccination clinics, spay/neuter surgeries, and emergency care - Capability to treat non-canine mammals, birds, and reptiles if needed - Provision of up to 4 hours per week on-site at the shelter - Testimony in court for animal cruelty cases as required - Vendor Requirements: - Must operate a licensed veterinary clinic within 10 miles of the shelter - Services must be available Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Contract Details: - Two-year base term with options for two additional one-year renewals - Pricing proposals must include all service fees, including for court testimony - No specific OEMs or product manufacturers are named; this is a service-based procurement

Description

The Town of North Hempstead is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to provide routine and emergency veterinary services for canine animals assigned to or in the care of the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter. The contract term is two years with an option to extend. Proposals must be submitted by June 17, 2026, and the selection will be based on the ability to provide high-quality services at cost-effective fees. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to request additional information or oral presentations during the evaluation process.
