Description
Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (hereinafter called “LLNS”) is seeking sources for the performance of the design build of the B695 Tank Farm Revitalization.
Tank Farm Improvement Project Summary
This project scope includes the design, demolition, and installation of five chemical reagent dosing systems for nine 5,000-gallon waste treatment tanks; the removal and replacement of the nine tank mixer assemblies (one for each of nine waste treatment tanks); design and installation of nine coarse bubble diffusers, one for each of nine waste treatment tanks); and an optional instrumentation removal and instillation.
The nine waste treatment tanks are part of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s (LLNL) waste treatment facility operated by the Radioactive and Hazardous Waste Management (RHWM) program. This renovation aims to upgrade the wastewater treatment system to improve operational efficiency, enhance safety, and ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements.
The following provides a description of the planned systems.
Base Scope
Reagent Dosing System
The new reagent dosing system will be a centralized system to dose 5 different reagents from 55-gallon drums into nine 5,000-gallon treatment tanks. The system will operate through the existing PLC system and dose specified amounts.
Tank Mixers
The tank mixer assemblies shall include blades, shaft, gearbox, and motor. The mixer shall be capable of thoroughly mixing the 5,000-gallon tank in 10 mins.
Course Bubble Diffusers
The course bubble diffusers will be installed inside each of the nine 5,000-gal treatment tanks and be capable of aerating the liquid with 60 scfm per tank.
Optional Scope
Instrumentation
The new instrumentation shall be pH/ORP, conductivity, oxygen, TSS, and liquid level sensor on each tank to aid in treatment and handling of the stored waste.
