This opportunity is for the replacement of the 3rd story asphalt shingle roof at Building 668, U.S. Army Garrison Devens RFTA, Massachusetts. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Army Garrison Devens RFTA (Army Contracting Command - New Jersey, W6QK ACC-PICA) - OEMs and Vendors: - GAF (manufacturer of ELK Timberline and Sovereign Series asphalt shingles) - No other specific OEMs or vendors are named; 'approved equal' products may be considered - Products/Services Requested: - Complete removal and replacement of the existing built-up asphalt shingle roof system - New asphalt shingles: GAF ELK Timberline Natural Shadow or Sovereign Series, or approved equal - Underlayment, waterproof leak barrier, ridge vents, nails, asphalt roof cement, asphalt primer, vapor barrier - Snow guard system above entrances and low roof sections - Roof fall protection system (anchor system with eyelets, designed by a registered engineer) - Removal and reinstallation of existing UL-approved lightning protection system (per NFPA 70, NFPA 780, UL 96, UL 96A) - Repair of any deteriorated roof deck areas discovered during demolition - Unique/Notable Requirements: - 30-year manufacturer warranty on asphalt shingles - 5-year contractor workmanship warranty - Fall protection system must be designed by a registered professional engineer and approved by the roof manufacturer - Environmental protection and quality control measures are required - All work must comply with relevant safety and building codes, including UL and NFPA standards for lightning protection

AMENDMENT 00001 - THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT 0001 TO THE SOLICITATION W15QKN-26-Q-A119 IS TO POST THE ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS RECEIVED FROM VENDORS AND TO INCLUDE A REVISED ADDENDUM TO 52.212-4.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS REQUIREMENT IS TO REPAIR BY REPLACEMENT THE 3RD STORY ROOF OF THE U.S. ARMY GARRISON RFTA BUILDING 668.  THE EXISTING 3RD STORY ROOF OF BUILDING 668 CONSISTS OF EXISTING ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOFING WITH UNKNOWN UNDERLAYMENT SUPPORTED BY A LOW-PITCH PLYWOOD DECK SHEETING.  THE BUILT-UP ROOFING IS TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH AN ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOF.  EXISTING LIGHTNING PROTECTION IS TO BE REMOVED AND REINSTALLED UPON COMPLETION OF THE NEW ROOFING SYSTEM.  PLEASE ALL ATTACHMENTS TO THIS SOLICITATION FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
