Description
The Government requires a breathing air compressor system for use by fire department emergency responders. The system must be NFPA 1901 and 1989 (current edition) compliant and include: an all-in-one unit with 6,000 PSI storage capacity and 15-25 horsepower; three SCBA fill stations accommodating cylinders up to 31" overall length; a 100-foot high-pressure cabinetenclosed hose reel; a sound-attenuating enclosure with slam-action latches; an automatic condensate drain system with a noncorrosive reservoir, integrated float sensor, and automatic "Full" indication with compressor shutdown; and safety alarms with an emergency stop button. Due to an existing breathing air system currently under service contract FA449725C0008, the Bauer brand is required due to unit integration. Procuring a different brand would be incompatible with the existing service infrastructure, would void the current service contract, and could compromise the safety and operational continuity of life-safety equipment used by emergency responders. Substitution of a different brand would result in increased costs, loss of warranty coverage, and potential non-compliance with NFPA standards as configured.
