The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), RWTSH division at Eglin Air Force Base, is seeking industry input for the potential procurement of a Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) Deformable Mirror (DM) to support hypersonic sensor testing at the KHILS Laboratory. - Government Buyer: - Department of Defense, Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/RWTSH) - Product Requested: - Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) Deformable Mirror (DM) - 137 actuators - Continuous membrane MEMS type - 4-8mm aperture - 5.5m actuator stroke - 2kHz driver frame rate - 14-bit resolution - Memory volatility certification - Designed for real-time hardware-in-the-loop missile engagement simulations for hypersonic EO/IR sensing - Quantity: 1 unit - Delivery Requirement: - Delivery within 14 weeks from contract award - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Must meet all technical specifications as outlined in the Minimum Requirements Document (MRD) - Intended for use in the KHILS Laboratory for advanced hypersonic sensor testing - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the notice; all interested parties are invited to submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to meet the requirements.

Description

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Eglin Air Force Base has a requirement to purchase a Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) Deformable Mirror (DM) for the AFRL/RWTSH at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.

This is a Sources Sought (SS)/Request for Information (RFI) only. This is NOT a presolicitation or Request for Quote (RFQ) and is not to be construed as any commitment by the Government. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract and/or pay for any quote preparation costs. The Government will not accept quotes at this time. This notice is not an offer by the Government to enter into a contract or any agreement. Interested Small Business concerns must identify to the Contracting Officer their interest and full capability to satisfy the Government's requirement by closing date listed. Responses will allow the Government to conduct an initial review of market capabilities in support of requirements identified in the attached Minimum Requirements Document (MRD) dated 1 June 2026.

SUBMISSION DETAILS: Interested parties should provide capabilities, qualification statements, and examples that demonstrate their ability to satisfy the requirements detailed in this request. Capability packages, at minimum, should address the following questions:

Company Name, Address, CAGE Code, Point of Contact (POC) for technical and contractual issues to include name, position, telephone number, and e-mail address. Identification of whether the company is currently designated as a Small Business under the requirement’s NAICS code as defined in FAR Part 19.1 or a Small Business concern identified at FAR 19.000(a)(3): 8(a), HUBZone small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, EDWOSB, or WOSB status. Company description of relevant capability and experience to provide supplies/services in accordance with the minimum requirements listed in the attached MRD. Item specifications/descriptions/brochures being offered that meet requirements listed in attached MRD. Company's potential teammates/subcontractors (if required to ensure success). What, if any, risks or unknowns would hinder industry’s ability to meet the requirements? Do you have an active GSA contract/schedule with this item available for purchase? If so, please include contract number and a copy of contract/schedule.
