NASA is seeking upgrades to enhance Safety and Mission Assurance for the production of MERINO Thermal Protection System (TPS) materials at its Ames Research Center. - Government Buyer: - National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) - NASA Ames Research Center, Thermal Protection Materials and Systems Branch - NASA Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate - OEMs and Vendors: - American Felt and Filter Co (AFFCO) is identified as the sole source provider for certain upgrades - Products and Services Requested: - Four main upgrade areas (each with a quantity of one): - Quality and Mission Assurance Facility Improvements - Inspection System and Cutting Table Improvements - Safety and Security Improvements to MERINO Facility - Technological Modernization & Upgrades to MERINO Facility - Safety and Mission Assurance Upgrades for MERINO TPS production (to be provided by AFFCO) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Upgrades must support compliance with AS9011 aerospace standards - Focus on enabling high-volume commercial production of MERINO TPS materials - Emphasis on facility safety, quality, mission assurance, and technological modernization - Sole source justification for AFFCO for certain services - Place of Performance: - NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California - Contracting Office: - NASA Shared Services Center, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi
