Description

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone in certain navigable waters of Lake Champlain near Essex, NY, to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from hazards associated with a fireworks display. The safety zone prohibits entry of vessels or persons unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Northern New England, or their designated representative. The safety zone covers all waters within a 200-yard radius of the fireworks barge. The rule is effective from 9 p.m. July 3, 2026, to 10:30 p.m. August 1, 2026, with enforcement primarily on July 3, 2026, unless delayed by weather.
