The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking well drilling, development, and testing services for a new artesian water supply well at the Eastern Virginia Rivers National Wildlife Refuge in Warsaw, Virginia. - Government Buyer: - Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) - Construction A/E Team 2 and 3, Falls Church, VA - Scope of Work: - Drill, develop, and test a new 4-inch diameter artesian well - Well must deliver 10 gallons per minute of potable water - Drilling depths may reach up to 800 feet - Includes installation of well casing, screen, pitless adapter, submersible pump, underground power supply wiring, and detectable warning tape - Final deliverables: detailed well log and water quality testing reports - Products/Materials Requested: - 4-inch diameter PVC well casing pipe (ASTM F480 compliant) - Continuous slot, factory wound PVC wire screen - Standard pitless adapter with watertight cap - Submersible well pump (10 GPM, 0.5 HP minimum, single phase 60 Hz AC motor) - Underground power supply wiring (Type UF, #10 copper or larger) - Detectable warning tape (acid- and alkali-resistant, color-coded for water systems) - Services Requested: - Drilling, developing, and testing of the artesian water well - Well development, yield and drawdown testing, disinfection, and reporting - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with Virginia state regulations, OSHA, NEC, and UL standards - Buy American construction material provisions apply - Environmental regulations must be followed - Estimated Contract Value: - Between $25,000 and $100,000 - Period of Performance: - Approximately 2 months, with work to be completed by early September - Locations: - Primary place of performance: Eastern Virginia Rivers National Wildlife Refuge, 336 Wilna Road, Warsaw, VA 22572 - Contracting office: FWS Construction A/E Team, 5275 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22041
