SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive exterminating and integrated pest management (IPM) services across 13 campus locations. - Government Buyer: - State University of New York (SUNY) – SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, Contracts and Procurement Office - Scope of Services: - Routine and specialty pest control for rodents, crawling and flying insects, bed bugs, pantry pests, and nuisance wildlife - Inspection, monitoring, prevention, and treatment services - Bed bug inspection and treatment protocols with rapid (2-hour) response for patient care areas - Rodent clean-out program (six times per year) - Fogging program (nine times per year, March–November) using 3% pyrethrin solution and ULV equipment - Emergency/urgent pest response with 2-hour onsite requirement for critical areas - Specialty/non-routine pest requests, including wildlife capture and removal - Sanitation support, HEPA vacuuming, and drain cleaning - Sustainability practices, such as Green Shield Certification, and use of least-toxic pesticides - Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (FIFRA, EPA, OSHA, NYSDEC, NYC DOH, Joint Commission, CMS) - Robust reporting, invoicing, and documentation systems - Vendor Requirements: - Minimum five years’ experience in hospital or university settings - NYSDEC Pesticide Business Registration and certified technicians (NYSDEC 7A, 7C, 7F licenses) - Detailed service plans for each location - Participation goals: 15% MBE, 15% WBE, 6% SDVOB - Mandatory walk-through attendance and submission of all required documentation - Products/Materials: - Vendors must list all pesticides and materials proposed, including EPA registration numbers - Notable Past Vendors: - Royal Exterminator, Bug Queen - No specific OEMs are named; vendors must comply with all chemical and equipment regulations - Locations: - Services required at multiple SUNY Downstate campus buildings, including hospital, clinical, administrative, and food service areas throughout Brooklyn, NY
