The Western Way Interim Improvements project involves maintenance of traffic, temporary traffic control, lane closures, milling and resurfacing of existing asphalt pavement, removal of existing concrete traffic separator, hydro blasting of the bridge deck, final pavement marking and striping, regulatory sign installation and relocation, removal and replacement of themed wayfinding signs, relocation and installation of signal heads, installation of new median turn lane signal pedestals and bases with associated conduit, pull boxes, traffic control cabinet tie-in work, erosion control, and site restoration. The work is located at Buena Vista Drive and Western Way, with additional work along the northbound approach of Hartzog Road. Construction activities are phased to maintain traffic circulation and safety. The project requires FDOT prequalified contractors with specific FDOT classes.
