The City of Norwalk is seeking bids for the Alondra Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation project, covering the stretch from Studebaker Road to Gridley Road. - Government Buyer: - City of Norwalk Engineering Department (City Engineer) - Scope of Work: - Comprehensive street pavement rehabilitation, including: - Cold milling of 181,000 SF of existing asphalt concrete (AC) pavement (2-inch depth) - Removal and reconstruction of AC pavement (4-inch: 98,500 SF; 10-inch: 2,000 SF) - Asphalt Rubber Hot Mix (ARHM) overlay (2,350 tons, 2-inch thick) - Localized AC pavement repair (1,000 SF) - Reconstruction of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) cross gutters (1,200 SF), sidewalks, driveways, and medians - Construction of 8 ADA-compliant curb ramps and 1 custom access ramp - Installation of metal hand railings, pedestrian barricades, and pavement markings/striping - Adjustment of utilities (manholes, valves, covers) to grade - Water pollution control, traffic control, and construction surveying - Removal of trees and restoration of traffic loop detectors - Products/Services Requested: - No specific OEMs or proprietary products are mandated; standard construction materials and methods per City and SPPWC standards - All labor, materials, and equipment required for the above tasks - Notable Requirements: - Liquidated damages of $3,000 per calendar day for delays - All work must be substantially complete within 40 working days from Notice to Proceed 2 - Bidders must be registered on the City’s PlanetBids portal - Estimated Project Value: - Approximately $1,500,000
Description
This project involves comprehensive street pavement rehabilitation including cold milling of existing asphalt concrete pavement, removals and reconstructions, ARHM overlays, AC base overlays, and adjusting utilities to grade. Additional work includes signing, striping, traffic control, removal and replacement of cross gutters and spandrels, adjacent curb and gutter, sidewalk, ADA curb ramps, and other related appurtenant work. The project requires furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and incidental work to satisfactorily complete the project as described in the contract documents.
