Sole Source Extension for AWS Cloud Services Supporting GSA IT Operations

This notice announces GSA's intent to extend a sole-source task order with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for mission-critical cloud computing platforms and support services. - The extension is under FAR 52.217-8, ensuring uninterrupted IT operations while a competitive recompete is prepared for FY27 Q1. - AWS currently supports over 45 major GSA IT systems, including SAM.gov, SmartPay, and Acquisition Gateway. - The extension covers a base period (June 14, 2026 – August 31, 2026) and two option periods (up to December 13, 2026), totaling up to six months. - The not-to-exceed contract value for the extension is $22,084,720. - No new products are being procured; the action is solely to maintain continuity of existing AWS cloud services. - Place of performance includes GSA federal offices in Chicago, IL and Washington, DC. - No other OEMs or vendors are named; AWS is the sole provider for this extension. - The extension is temporary, pending a full and open competition for future services.

Description

This Sole Source Justification (SSJ) supports the Government’s exercise of FAR 52.217- 8, Option to Extend Services, under the current Task Order to ensure uninterrupted delivery of mission-critical IT operations across GSA. This extension provides the Government sufficient time to complete the competitive recompete acquisition, which is currently scheduled for award in the first quarter of FY27
