The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) is inviting Statements of Interest for participation in the Roadway Safety Innovation Expo (Safety Expo), a one-day event at USDOT Headquarters in Washington, DC. - The Safety Expo will feature hands-on demonstrations and interactive exhibits of roadway safety technologies and solutions. - Targeted demonstration areas include automated driving systems, behavioral safety, commercial vehicle safety, pedestrian safety, and work zone safety. - No products or services are being procured; this is not a solicitation for purchase or contract award. - No federal funding or reimbursement is available; all participation costs (including transportation, assembly, and breakdown of equipment) are the responsibility of the exhibitor. - No specific OEMs, vendors, product part numbers, or purchase quantities are listed in the notice. - Space for demonstrations is limited, and participants must manage their own logistics. - Statements of Interest are due by June 12, 2026, with questions due by June 8, 2026. - Additional requirements and submission instructions are detailed in the attached special notice.
Description
USDOT Roadway Safety Innovation Expo (Safety Expo) is a premier one-day event that will transform the USDOT Headquarters into a high-tech, immersive experience to showcase roadway safety technologies and innovations. The Safety Expo will feature hands-on interactive demonstrations and simulators across the USDOT Headquarters campus in Washington, DC. The Safety Expo is intended to build broad public awareness of these roadway safety technologies and innovations by reaching leaders representing State and local transportation agencies, Members of Congress, industry stakeholders, transportation association representatives, safety advocates, high school and college students, and members of the media.
Space is limited. The Safety Expo will only be able to accommodate a limited number of demonstrations, simulators, and presentations. We are currently seeking Statements of Interest for this upcoming roadway safety showcase. While the event schedule is being finalized, we invite entities to submit demonstration ideas for innovations and technologies that improve roadway safety.

For priority consideration, Statement(s) of Interest must be received by 5:00 PM ET Friday, June 12, 2026. Submissions received after the date in this paragraph may be reviewed and considered subject to available space and available agency resources.

PLEASE NOTE: No federal funding is available for this opportunity. Participation in the showcase and demonstration is at the expense of the exhibiting entity. Exhibitors are solely responsible for the transportation, drayage, assembly, and breakdown of all equipment and display materials.
