Description
This direct final rule inserts sunset provisions into certain Department of Energy regulations, consistent with Executive Order 14270, Zero-Based Regulatory Budgeting to Unleash American Energy. Each sunset provision establishes a conditional sunset date for covered regulations; if the DOE does not extend a regulation before its sunset date, it will expire and be removed from the Code of Federal Regulations. The DOE may extend the sunset date multiple times but never beyond five years in the future. The rule affects multiple parts of Title 10 CFR related to energy and administrative procedures.
