Description

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus SAS Model A318, A319, A320, and A321 airplanes. This AD was prompted by the detection of a deviation from the manufacturing process during a review of the cold working process in the assembly line. It requires repetitive special detailed inspections and rototest or high frequency eddy current inspections of affected fasteners and fastener holes, along with applicable on-condition actions. The AD addresses an unsafe condition related to fastener and fastener hole integrity to ensure continued airworthiness and safety.
