Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has announced the retitling of the Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC) as the NIST Artificial Intelligence Consortium. This initiative aims to develop science-based and empirically backed guidelines and standards for AI measurement to support global AI metrology. NIST invites organizations such as non-profits, industry leaders, universities, and federal agencies to submit letters of interest to collaborate on addressing challenges related to AI development and deployment. Selected participants will enter into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) or a non-CRADA agreement if legally permitted. The Consortium's research activities are ongoing with biannual review periods, and existing members are not required to reapply but may need to sign amendments reflecting the new scope.
