Caltrans is seeking bids for the on-call, as-needed rental and operation of specialized vegetation management equipment in San Diego County. - Government Buyer: - California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), District 11/Maintenance, Division of Procurement and Contracts - OEMs and Vendors: - Gyro-Trac (specified for masticator attachment; equivalents permitted) - Products/Services Requested: - One fully operated and maintained Mechanical Brush Removal Tractor with an approved masticator attachment (Model Gyro-Trac boom mounted cutting-head or equivalent) - Estimated 2,250 hours of operation - One fully operated Water Truck - Estimated 2,250 hours of operation - Traffic Control for Lane Closures (if Caltrans is unavailable) - Estimated 100 hours - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Equipment must be provided on a fully operated basis, including all labor, tools, equipment, travel, transport, fuel, materials, supplies, maintenance, and incidentals - Contractors and subcontractors must hold a valid Class A General Engineering Contractor License or C-27 Landscaping Contractor License from the California Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB); if the prime holds a C-27, a C-31 Construction Zone Traffic Control Contractor License is also required - Valid Motor Carrier Permit from the California DMV and registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) are mandatory - Small Business and Micro Business participation is encouraged, with a 25% subcontracting goal and DVBE incentives - Prevailing wage applies if the total bid exceeds $15,000 - Services are required on a 24/7 on-call basis, with each service request not to exceed one month - Locations: - Primary place of performance: San Diego County - Contracting office: Caltrans Division of Procurement and Contracts, 1727 30th Street, MS 65, Sacramento, CA 95816-7006 - Additional government facility: 1102 Montenegro Way, El Centro, CA 92243

Description

This solicitation is for the rental and operation of a fully operated Mechanical Brush Removal Tractor with an approved masticator attachment type, Model Gyro-Trac boom mounted cutting-head, or equivalent, and a fully operated Water Truck. The contractor must provide all labor, tools, equipment, travel, transport, fuel, materials, supplies, traffic control if required, maintenance, and incidentals necessary for the services. The equipment rental is to be furnished on a fully operated rental basis. The work is to be performed in San Diego County for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
