Description

This solicitation is for a program aimed at increasing adoption and monitoring performance of cold climate, high efficiency packaged window heat pumps (PWHPs) as a cost-effective, minimally invasive heating electrification retrofit solution for New York State buildings. The program is structured in two phases: Phase I involves publishing PWHP performance specifications and approving manufacturers and vendors who meet these specifications. Phase II provides incentives to approved participants to deploy PWHPs in demonstration sites, with funding for performance monitoring and evaluation provided by NYSERDA. Eligible buildings include existing multifamily buildings with five or more units in New York State, with at least 50% residential space.
