The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking bids for a statewide Master Agreement to provide comprehensive cremation services for deceased incarcerated individuals at numerous state prisons and conservation camps across California. - Government Buyer: - California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) - Division of Administrative Services, Office of Business Services, Contracts Management Branch - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or vendors are named; open to qualified service providers - Products/Services Requested: - Comprehensive cremation services, including: - Removal of deceased individuals from place of death or Coroner’s Office - Cold storage (with proof of charges for storage exceeding 10 days) - Provision of suitable cremation containers - Performance of cremation - Containerization and disposal of ashes - Completion of all required death certificates and permits (cremation, interment, scattering) - Related services such as autopsy/investigation fees - Estimated cremation quantities per location range from 3 to 150 annually - Bidders must provide rates per cremation and for related services; as-needed services may be required (up to 25% of total) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Contractor must collect deceased bodies within 24 hours of notification, 7 days a week including holidays - Services must comply with all applicable laws and regulations - Bidders may bid on one or more groups of locations but must bid on all locations within any group - Provisions for primary, secondary, and tertiary contractors - Encouragement of participation from small, micro, and disabled veteran businesses - Detailed licensing, security, and reporting requirements - Locations: - Services required at over 60 named state prisons and conservation camps throughout California, with specific addresses provided for each facility

Description

This solicitation is for a Master Agreement to provide Cremation Services to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) at various locations statewide. The contractor will be compensated according to rates specified in Exhibit B-1, which includes all labor, transportation, materials, permits, and other necessary expenses. Services include removal of deceased incarcerated individuals, cold storage, cremation, and disposal of ashes, as well as completion of death certificates and permits. The contractor must collect deceased bodies within 24 hours of notification, seven days a week, including holidays, and may be required to collect from alternate locations at no additional cost.
