Description

The Kansas State Historical Society (KSHS) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes human remains representing at least two individuals and 448 associated funerary objects such as beads, bone pendants, shark teeth, and projectile points. The remains and objects have been determined to have a cultural affiliation with the Kaw Nation, Oklahoma and The Osage Nation. Repatriation of these items may occur on or after June 29, 2026, and written requests for repatriation must be sent to the KSHS.
