Description
The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management, Alaska State Office has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identified human remains representing at least 10 individuals and 21 associated funerary objects from sites in Kachemak Bay, Alaska. Cultural affiliation has been established with the Native Village of Nanwalek, Native Village of Port Graham, and the Seldovia Village Tribe. Repatriation of these remains and objects may occur on or after June 29, 2026, with requests for repatriation to be sent to the Bureau of Land Management representative in Anchorage, AK.
