Description

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary special local regulation (SLR) for certain waters of the Upper Bay of New York Harbor to ensure safety during a high-speed sailboat race. The regulation temporarily prohibits persons and vessels from entering, transiting through, blocking, or loitering within the Event Area unless authorized by the Captain of the Port New York or a designated representative. The event features 12 high-speed F50 catamaran teams racing at speeds up to 60 mph, with numerous spectator and support vessels. The regulation is effective from noon on May 30, 2026, through 6:30 p.m. on May 31, 2026, with enforcement only during those times on the specified dates.
