Description
This requirement is for the manufacture, assembly, and delivery of F/A-18E/F Support Equipment to support the F/A-18 NOLA Adversary Site Stand up. It is the Government's intention to go sole source to The Boeing Company (CAGE: 0PXV4) for this effort.
The Boeing Company is a prime integrator of the EA-18G and F/A-18E/F aircraft, the original designer, developer and manufacturer and the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience, technical expertise and technical data to provide the PSE for the EA-18G and F/A-18E/F requirements. Any other source would need to possess the drawings/technical data to be able to perform this requirement.
The Boeing Company is the only known qualified source capable of satisfying the U.S. Navy's specific requirements. The technical drawing package for this PSE was designed by and is currently maintained solely by The Boeing Company. Therefore, the Government cannot provide the necessary technical details that fully capture the required specifications for this requirement to another contractor. Award to another source would require the need to reverse engineer and requalify equipment. This process would take an additional 24 months and result in unacceptable delays to the Government.
This delay would adversely affect the Squadrons ability to perform their everyday duties in supporting the Warfighter. Therefore, the efforts described herein cannot be performed by another source.
