Description
The Coast Guard is proposing to revise its regulations for permanent safety zones in the Coast Guard Sector Mobile Captain of the Port Zone to update the current list with revisions and additional events. These safety zones are necessary to protect event participants, waterway users, and vessels from potential hazards associated with recurring events such as airshows, fireworks displays, and swim and sailing events. The proposed rule would prohibit persons from entering these safety zones without permission from the Captain of the Port or their designated representative. Comments on the proposed rule are invited until June 26, 2026.
