Description

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the allocation of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) set-aside allowances for the calendar year 2026. These allowances were withheld from general pool allowance holders to accommodate unforeseen HFC needs for metered dose inhaler (MDI) end users. Entities using HFCs as a propellant in MDIs had until April 30, 2026, to apply for these allowances, but no applications were received. Consequently, the EPA allocated all set-aside allowances pro rata among general pool allowance holders.
