The New England Fishery Management Council is scheduling a public meeting of its Joint Herring Committee and Advisory Panel to consider actions affecting New England fisheries in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). The meeting will discuss a 2026 action to include Atlantic herring specifications for 2027-2031, river herring and shad management measures, and other related measures. Recommendations from this group will be brought to the full Council for formal consideration and action if appropriate. The meeting will be held on June 8, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. EDT and will be accessible via webinar.
