NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCESpecial NoticeThis notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation package is available. However, firms that believe they can provide equipment or service that fully meets the Government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation to the identified point of contact within 5 days after publication of this synopsis. Such documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses can be sent via e-mail to christopher.baker@noaa.gov . A determination by the Government not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.NOAA's Marine Operations Center, Acquisition Branch, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.103 other than full and open competition; with Central Alabama Training Solutions, Inc. 5100 Culver Rd. Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401 for the following.1.0 Purpose: This Statement of Need contains requirements for Central Alabama Training Solutions, a professional supplier of SCBA equipment, to provide equipment as Long Lead Time Material (LLTM) in support of the upcoming Drydock Availability. Material to be delivered to Pascagoula, MS by September 01, 2026. In addition, as an authorized distributor Central Alabama Training Solutions is required to maintain MAKO certification(s) for service and warranty within their assigned area. Furthermore Central Alabama Training Solutions service technician(s) are required to renew their service certifications every five years to keep abreast of current product and maintenance procedures.
