Description
The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) intends to award up to $5 million in grants to eligible entities to support efforts to develop and implement projects that use technology to improve the quality and efficiency of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) application and eligibility determination systems. Eligible applicants include State agencies administering SNAP, State or local governments, agencies providing health or welfare services, public health or educational entities, and private nonprofit entities such as community-based or faith-based organizations, food banks, or other emergency feeding organizations. Applicants may request between $20,000 and $2 million in funding. The grants aim to modernize SNAP customer service, improve administrative infrastructure, and invest in technology to coordinate application and eligibility determination processes between SNAP and other assistance programs.
