Description

The Minnesota Department of Human Services is seeking information to define the medically frail exemption for Medicaid eligibility under new federal requirements (Public Law 119-21, Section 71119). This Request for Information (RFI) aims to gather feedback on a draft clinical definition and claims analysis algorithm to identify medically frail individuals for Medicaid Adults without children. The definition will be used to implement work or community engagement exemptions starting January 1, 2027. Respondents are asked to provide input on clinical conditions, data sources, access and equity considerations, and outreach strategies.
