The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters on a portion of the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal near the Great Bridge Bridge in Chesapeake, Virginia. This safety zone is intended to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards during blank cannon fire. Entry into the zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Virginia or their designated representative. The safety zone will be enforced from June 19, 2026, through June 21, 2026, during specific hours each day.
