Argonne National Laboratory, under the Department of Energy, is seeking a fully integrated microwave resonant cavity heating system for use with the Advanced Photon Source beamlines for in-situ X-ray experimentation. - Government Buyer: - Department of Energy, Argonne National Laboratory - OEMs and Vendors: - SAIREM (as the specified OEM for the GMS450 microwave generator, or equivalent) - Products/Services Requested: - Microwave resonant cavity heating system (1 unit) - Includes a 450 W, 2.45 GHz solid-state microwave generator (SAIREM GMS450 or equivalent) - Closed-loop process control unit with PID temperature control - Frequency sweep and tuning between 2.42-2.5 GHz, with ~100 kHz resolution - Modbus RTU remote communication and analog input for external PID power control - Windows-based control computer with Python or LabVIEW software for generator and process control - Water chiller for generator/cavity cooling - All necessary control electronics, power delivery equipment, instrumentation, and documentation - Services: Design, fabrication, testing, delivery, and optional installation support - Unique/Notable Requirements: - System must be compatible with Advanced Photon Source beamlines for in-situ X-ray experiments - Recipe-based process control and generator operation/reflected power protection - Real-time monitoring of generator status, forward/reflected power, and temperature - All software must be Windows-based and support Python or LabVIEW - Place of Performance: - Argonne National Laboratory, including the Advanced Photon Source beamlines in Argonne, Illinois

THIS RFQ WILL BE EVALUATED BASED ON LOWEST PRICE, TECHNICALLY ACCEPTABLE METHODOLOGY

Looking to source a microwave generator and process control unit in accordance with the attached Appendix B Statement of Work.

Please note this is in relation to Notice ID 6-B185-Q-00279-00, but must be responded to separately due to funding source.

Components to include:

Microwave generator IR pyrometer control unit and enclosure related hardware

Please review all applicable documentation and provide a proposal response no later than 5:00 PM CST May 26, 2026.

Please see attached solicitation package and ensure ALL 3 points are followed:

1. Please remember to sign page 1. 

2. On page 2, please also remember to complete ALL points - including anticipated ship date AND country of origin.

3. Lastly please remember to fill out your BEST AND FINAL pricing on the individual line item boxes on page 2 with firm fixed-pricing in US Dollars. 

Please be sure ALL 3 components are completed. NO SOLICITATION WILL BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT THESE COMPLETED. If any components are missing, your solicitation will be discarded.
