Description
This final rule by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) addresses the Renewable Energy Production Incentive (REPI) program, which was established to encourage production of electric energy from renewable resources by state-owned or non-profit electric cooperatives. The rule aligns the regulations with the statute that includes a payment sunset date, specifying that no incentive payments will be made after September 30, 2026. The rule removes the inactive and obsolete regulatory program effective October 1, 2026, reflecting that no funds have been appropriated for the program since Fiscal Year 2009.
