The City of Foster City Public Works Department is seeking pre-qualified general contractors for a major upgrade to its Lagoon Pump Station, the city's only lagoon pump facility. - Government Buyer: - City of Foster City Public Works Department - Office: 610 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City, CA - OEMs and Vendors: - Cascade (Cascade model 66-AM pumps specified; equivalents permitted) - Products/Services Requested: - Two Cascade model 66-AM pumps (or equivalent), each rated for 125,000 GPM - Removal of two decommissioned pumps and engines - Construction of two stop log isolation systems at wetwell intakes - Replacement of 12 flap gates (8 at 84"x84", 4 at 60" diameter) - Refurbishment of 8 weir gates and replacement of electric actuators - Replacement of two trash rack systems (one per pump bay) - Inspection and repair of wetwell and aftbay concrete structures - Replacement of north and south side walkways - Installation of four 11'x11' roof access openings with removable louvered penthouses - Seismic retrofits using shotcrete overlays on the building exterior - Replacement of roof waterproofing system - Electrical upgrades (removal of old and addition of new components) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Only contractors with a valid California Class A General Contractor license are eligible - Pre-qualification is mandatory to bid - Contractors must demonstrate experience with large capacity pumps and marine concrete structures - Project Labor Agreement with local unions applies - Project duration is 300 calendar days (approx. 10 months) - Estimated construction cost: $14 million to $15 million - Primary Place of Performance: - Lagoon Pump Station, 100 Lincoln Centre Dr., Foster City, CA 94404

Description

The City of Foster City is seeking qualified general contractors for the Lagoon Pump Station Seismic Rehabilitation and Capacity Enhancement Project. The work includes removal of old pumps, installation of new Cascade model 66-AM pumps, construction of stop log isolation systems, replacement of flap gates and trash rack systems, refurbishment of weir gates, inspection and repair of concrete structures, replacement of walkways, installation of roof access openings, seismic retrofits, roof waterproofing replacement, and electrical upgrades. The project completion time is 300 calendar days with an estimated construction cost between $14,000,000 and $15,000,000. Contractors must hold a valid Class A General Contractor license and submit pre-qualification packages by June 18, 2026.
