The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, is seeking bids for a major improvement dredging project at New Haven Harbor, Connecticut. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District (KO Contracting Division) - Scope of Work: - Mechanical dredging of approximately 4.5 million cubic yards of sediment and 32,000 cubic yards of rock - Deepening and widening harbor channels and turning basins to 40 feet depth - Drilling, underwater blasting, and removal of rock material - Disposal of dredged material at designated federal disposal sites: Central Long Island Sound Disposal Site, Morris Cove, West River Borrow Pits, Shellfish Habitat, and Rock Reef Habitat Disposal Areas - Optional coordination zone dredging and disposal work - Products/Services Requested: - Mobilization and demobilization for two dredging seasons (Part Numbers: 0001, 0002) - Dredging and disposal of sediment, sand, and rock (Part Numbers: 0003, 0004, 0005) - Optional coordination zone dredging (Part Numbers: 0006, 0007) - Standby costs for work delays (Part Number: 0008) - Construction, alteration, or repair work for harbor dredging - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with environmental windows to protect aquatic wildlife - Minimum dredge production rate of 300,000 cubic yards per 30 consecutive days - No blasting within 50 feet of utility cables (e.g., Cross Sound Cable) - Extensive safety, quality control, and monitoring requirements, including dredge plant instrumentation - Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) required with offer submissions - Performance and payment bonds required within 10 calendar days after award - Place of Performance and Delivery: - New Haven Harbor, New Haven, CT - Multiple federal disposal sites in Long Island Sound region - Contracting office located at 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA
